Clean Up[edit]

I'm starting to think all the major characters from Char's Counterattack, Gundam 0080, Gundam 0083, and The 08th MS Team should each have a brief description on each respective article for the story they appear in. Then maybe there should be a list of characters for each of the shows - Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gundam ZZ, and Victory Gundam.

I see there is already a separate List of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam characters. I suppose we should rename this the List of Mobile Suit Gundam characters and then start separate lists for Gundam ZZ and Victory Gundam. Shaneymike (talk) 21:03, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed all of the characters that were exclusively in Zeta Gundam as there is already a list for them. As soon as the other shows have their own lists, I'll gladly remove the rest. Frau Bow[edit]

I'm deeply biased, but if you have seen Mobile Suit Gundam, Frau has a bigger role in the story than Hayato, Sleggar or Matilda, and certainly an equal one with any other WB crew member. Please stop this silly nonsense about merging her. –ConkblockedWiki 01:53, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It has nothing to do with her role in the series, but with establishing her notability via reliable third-party sources. There have been numerous discussions on merging unnotable characters (i.e. characters lacking real-world notability, not just "significant" within the series) all across Wikipedia, and particular with the anime/manga project. There have been very lengthy discussions and a ton of merges done at List of Dragon Ball characters, List of Naruto characters, etc etc. There are also have been many discussions on the Anime/manga project page (search archives for character list). -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 03:20, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ryu Jose should be merged. Hayato Kobayashi continues to appear in Zeta and Double-Zeta, but isn't significant enough to have his own page. Frau Bow isn't very significant either, and should remain merged. Traece (talk) 07:26, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support the merging of all. None have any real-world notability as established by significant coverage in reliable, third-party sources. As such, they should not have articles on their own. Per WP:MOS-AM, WP:MOSTV, WP:WAF, and WP:NOT, merging to this list is the most appropriate course of action, with appropriate trimming down of excessive plot to reflect good character list practices as seen reflected in FL level character lists. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 03:16, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Support I see no reason to keep any of those as separate articles if reliable sources aren't presented. Most of the characters proposed don't do a whole lot outside a couple of scenes and so won't have a great amount of discussion in reliable sources. Support as the person behind the original merge notices. I've also added Ramba Ral, Degwin Sodo Zabi, Dozle Zabi, Garma Zabi, and Kycilia Zabi to the merge proposal. Despite the 11 hour expansion that incorporated a great deal of original research, there isn't really anything to merge as the character is inconsequential.
