There is actually an outstanding description, and contextual discussion, of a book written by Honorable Colleen McMahon (a federal judge in the southern district of New York). It's entitled, "The View from Gabbatha: Meditations from the Judge's Bench" and is published by Church Publishing (dot org). It includes a powerfully inspiring assessment of the importance in conceiving the balance between doing what's right, and doing what's popular -- a lesson that seems to have evaded so many! Highly recommended as a source for contextual understanding of this term, and many others. --ThinkingOutsideTheBox (talk) 17:50, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
