The Gandalf is the saga is a quite separate figure, neither Elf nor dwarf, but a Norse chieftain/king (see eg, T. D. Kendrick A History of the Vikings (2012) p. 109). Am amending page accordingly Jacobisq (talk) 07:48, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
