Review to follow.Cptnono (talk) 02:16, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • The lead read like it needed some extra commas or a few sentences broken into two. Can you take a quick crack at cleaning it up? It could very well be our different styles of writing.
    • Have had a go at rewriting the lead by breaking some sentences into two. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The lead discusses him being fired a decent amount but some decent honours are listed at the end of the article. Expanding on those would make the lead a proper summary while making it sound a little less negative. Similarly, a good season with the Sounders might be worth mentioning.
    • Expanded the lead, mentioning his involvement in the Soccer Bowl, winning the Anglo-Italian Cup and being named the Non-League Manager of the Year. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is there any information on his play during the 1979 European Cup before the final?
    • He only made one appearances in that season's European Cup before the 1979 final, so likely not. So instead I've noted that he made one European appearance that season. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Owing to an injury to..." reads odd. "Due to an injury..." maybe?
  • "Mills missed only one league match for Forest from February 1981 to the end of 1980–81 season"?
    • Reworded, although I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for? Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "this acted as a wake-up call for Mills, who claimed" needs a "," or ":" after claimed. "Claimed" is acceptable here but "said" might be better. The "Return to Tamworth" section also needs a coma before the quote.
    • Reworked as suggested, and I've amended each instance of this. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Again, the "Return to Nottingham Forest" section has long sentences. You do not need to break them up but it might help. (up to you)
  • "He first scored for the first time for County" or something similar might be better.
  • "an ever-present" isn't common vernacular where I come from. Consider adjusting.
  • Do the fragments "Less than a month later", "By finishing fourth in the table", "After a run of good form from late-February to early-March 2004", "After an undisclosed financial settlement was agreed", "With a compensation package agreed" require comas?
    • For me they flow well enough without commas, but if you feel differently I wouldn't be opposed to including them. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • The final paragraph of his time with Leicester could be expanded if you wanted to go for FA. (no action needed)
    • I'd like to nominate it at FA eventually, so I will keep that in mind. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • His serious injury with Notts County could use another line of explanation.
    • According to Mills in an interview in the Daily Mail the injury was a hamstring pull sustained at York's Bootham Crescent. But this can't have been possible as Notts County had not yet played York by December 1995, unless it was a reserve fixture. Using my Rothmans book for that season he played his last match against Blackpool on 23 December, but there's nothing to confirm it was in this match he sustained the injury. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • It might be useful for international readers to know immediately what tier Grantham Town was. The wikilink might work. I'll leave that up to you.
    • That could be useful, especially as the tiers were different before 2004. The Southern League Midland Division will have been the seventh tier back then. However, my worry is that noting the tier is WP:OR, and that if it's done for one division it might be seen as inconsistent not do so for others. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Why did he resign from King's Lynn?
  • His time at Coventry City could use expansion. There may not be anything of note, though.
  • Same with playing time at Glapwell (lesser so).
    • Expanded, not that there's much out there I'm afraid. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "He was not registered as a player at York, with chairman Jason McGill going on to refuse Mills a playing contract on multiple occasions, having been included in some of Tamworth's matchday squads at the age of 48." needs work.
  • "...eventually securing one after finishing fourth.in the Conference Premier" (we already know the division)
  • The "Style of play" section desperately needs expansion. It is enough for GA but not of you go FA.
    • I've done some more online and offline research but haven't been able to find anything more to add. I'll probably need to make an appeal to users who have access to books that might cover his style of play. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • There are too many images in the York section. Images are great but a link to a commons category will suffice.
    • I've removed one. Please let me know if you disagree with my choice. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:22, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Great read over all. I actually like learning about the guy.Cptnono (talk) 03:25, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
