I think we should move all info about "Win one for the Gipper" into a separate article.

The phrase "Win one for the Gipper", attributed to Gipp by coach Knute Rockne, was used as a political slogan by Ronald Reagan, who in 1940 portrayed Gipp in Knute Rockne, All American and was often referred to as "The Gipper President".

Somehow the phrase itself seems to have become larger than the man who supposedly said it. --Uncle Ed 14:17, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I find it curious that 'The Gipper' is redirected to Gipp's page rather than a disambiguation page with links to both Gipp and Reagan. Although Gipp was the original 'Gipper', 'The Gipper' is most often used to refer to Reagan in my experience. The context of Gipp is important in establishing why Reagan earned the nickname, but surely this could be included on Reagan's page? Charlycrash 18:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
