Talk:Gifting remittances

Readers should know that this article relies on very few examples of articles (at most 3) that analyze remittances as giving, and upon an inexpert and inaccurate summary of two oddly matched theorists of gift exchange (Godlier, Appadurai)in order to circumscribe and wrongly typify a broader literature on migration and remittances as if it all addressed gifting remittances. With the exception of the lead article by Cliggett, that analysis is yet to be done. It is not possible to re-write this article in an encyclopedic style because it is simply a POV. The generalized approach to remittances as 'a kind of giving', as is claimed here, does not exist. --Jabezclegg (talk) 13:27, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
