Complete archive[edit]

Also does anyone know if the complete archive of GBC resolutions are avaliable online? Seems their old website went offline, taking a vital part of ISKCON history with it.

Yes, I have found a site that has them; http://www.dandavats.com/?p=60 This link will take you to a site which list the GBC Resolutions for year 2006.

http://www.dandavats.com/?p=60

Dandavats is no WP:RS - its a blog site and can not be used for the Wikipedia, the resolutions also are a primary source and can not be used unless quoted by the independent reliable sources.

Merge from[edit]

A merge from the following articles blp stubs is proposed, the merge will take place within a week unless there is a reason for a separate notability of each or selected persons, the only criteria of notability is currently membership of this body, Governing Body Commission:

Prahladananda SwamiSivarama SwamiRamai SwamiPragosha DasaParam Gati SwamiMalati Devi DasiJayapataka SwamiDevamrita SwamiBhakti Caitanya Swami

There are no sufficient independent sources to justify separate articles. Wikidas© 08:13, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Picking a number of GBC articles at random, it does look like a number of them are so brief that they would be better as sections in an expanded GBC article. However, so as to not make this article unreasonably long, in cases where an individual GBC member has a notable, sourced, more substantial article, I think it would be reasonable to leave that article be, linking to it from this article with a brief section and a "See main article" template. - Kathryn NicDhàna 20:47, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
It seems like the page could benefit by splitting this section into a new article for the list of leaders and their short biographies. mheart (talk) 21:39, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
The article needs clean up, not splitting. Wikidas© 14:05, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Number of Original Members of the G.B.C.[edit]

"In 1982 the GBC began the slow process of adding new gurus to original eleven." This conflicts with the preceding list of twelve gurus. Can anyone clarify?Zengakuren (talk) 19:39, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

12 is the list of GBCs (leaders), not gurus (teachers). Wikidas©

It seems then that the article could be rewritten to make clearer the distinction between G.B.C. "leaders" and "gurus." As it is, the layman may not read the difference.Zengakuren (talk) 19:00, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

I agree. It should be done. Wikidas©
