Whereas, University System of Maryland at Hagerstown's double digit plagiarism probability stems from a quote, the Hagerstown Community College does not seem to be proper editorial structure.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:46, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A new source was added with even greater copyvio probability. Please use the compare feature of the copyvio detector for the HCC article.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 18:28, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Was there an explanation for this issue?-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 19:23, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can we discuss this issue?-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 04:43, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the citation for the Hagerstown Community College part of the hook.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 05:57, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Both this source [1] and this source [2] discuss the HCC economic development. I could use either. --evrik (talk) 22:36, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The current article text does not establish a link between the pictured hotel and the subject of the article. I believe the intent is to say that this image depicts the current home of the USMH, but I don't think the text establishes that connection although the text presents content about the image, the context is not as I believe was intended.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 18:14, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • @TonyTheTiger: I switched the source to the DOC source. I removed the image from this page. --evrik (talk) 01:00, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am a bit surprised you removed the picture from the nomination. The prominent placement of the image in the USMH article begs the question regarding whether it is the current home. Surely the USMH has an address, which either is or isn't the same as Baldwin Hotel. I guess you can avoid clarification of this issue by not including the picture in the nomination.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 19:10, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not really tied to the image. However, if you look at it, you can see the university logo in the windows. --evrik (talk) 00:33, 21 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • New reviewer needed to take over the Hagerstown Community College part of this nomination, as the reviewer has not completed the review template nor responded to where the review stands in over two weeks despite multiple pings. Thank you. BlueMoonset (talk) 03:01, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • @BlueMoonset: Sorry, on July 14/15, my computer overheated and fried my hard drive, which was not clear. At first we thought we would be able to reimage the hard drive. We tried 1. Downloading recovery media from Dell and reimaging, 2. Downloading recovery media from Windows and reimaging, 3. Delivering physical recovery media from Dell and reimaging, 4. Delivering a replacement hard drive and restoring. Basically, for days I have been trying to get my main computer running. I have had limited editorial activity since then. I missed your 7/13 and 7/20 postings until now.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 23:29, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • I am awaiting a response to the copyvio issue above.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 03:45, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      • I thought this was resolved weeks ago, what again is the problem? --evrik (talk) 16:27, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
        • evrik, a simple look at Earwig's results shows a clear overuse of the material from the HCC website. The second sentence of the lede, Background's fourth paragraph's first sentence, and (worst of all) the first paragraph under Academics all need attention. I'd probably also reword the Academics section's second paragraph. The Hireteen source looks like it's more likely that it took the paragraph from us rather than vice versa, while MDACC probably got their information from HCC. Please address these issues; it's been since June 2 and 5 that TonyTheTiger pointed out copyvio issues, if obliquely. Also, you might want to do a quick copyedit of the article: there's a double period in the lede, and the opening of Academics is missing at least an "is". BlueMoonset (talk) 05:24, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Evrik: Are you able to address these concerns, or should this be closed as unsuccessful? Z1720 (talk) 14:47, 15 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Although I don't know what is customary for an unsuccessful close, I don't think we should close this May 27 nomination out until it is 90 days old. I might even give it til the end of the month or 100 days.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 21:45, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • TonyTheTiger, I feel I ought to point out that the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown article was passed by you, though HCC has foundered. However, I do have to wonder at the approved hook, which strikes me as uninteresting and mundane. If it were interesting, I'd normally suggest unbolding the Hagerstown Community College link, though given the HCC copyvio issues, it might be better to propose an interesting hook without HCC. Pinging Z1720, who wondered about closing the nomination as unsuccessful. BlueMoonset (talk) 01:00, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I suggested closing the nom because evrik had not responded in 3 weeks and has not edited since July 31, so I was checking to see if they were respond to a ping. I have no qualms about closing it now or after 90 days. Z1720 (talk) 01:08, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • User:BlueMoonset since wikipedia depends on a diversity of interests, I try not to express an opinion that subject matters other than those that interest me are any less interesting than my own. However, I do find the topics of these two articles somewhat devoid of DYKish content and the proposed hook to be well described when you say "uninteresting and mundane". I would nonetheless support a debolded single article hook as a way to close out this nomination after 90 or 100 days.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 03:28, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Per the discussion above, it appears that the nomination can no longer move forward as the nominator has not been active for quite some time and it is one of the oldest nominations currently active. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 02:22, 21 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
