To Merge or Not to Merge[edit]

If jewellery making is merged with this article, I would recommend that it not be merged with Jewellery. Knowledge of the term lapidary is assumed in the main article, whereas a definition is explicitly laid out in this article. Also, I believe handmade jewelry is a completely different category from jewelry manufacture, which may also be covered eventually under jewellery making. I Just edited this topic to be about hand made jewelry, which is jewelry made by hand, whether it be copper wire or diamonds and platinum. It is not a genre, it's a method. I'd propose that if a topic about homemade jewelry or jewelry as a hobby is wanted, that it be started and put the rest of that there. I will bow to the Wiki gods if there is disagreement, but what was there was not appropriate, in my mind - in a hobby jewelry topic, yes. Handmade is no electricity - why lapidary is included is a mystery, plus why it's even in this topic is a bigger mystery. I'm pro jeweler, BTW.Jjdon (talk) 00:42, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jewelry industry redirect[edit]

I noticed that jewelry industry redirects here. But the jewelry industry is much larger than handmade jewelry. A big jewelry company is not the same thing as handmade jewelry. I suggest it should not redirect. - Kzirkel (talk) 20:28, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
