Untitled[edit]

Can someone add a list of his linguistic ideas, presented in Elements of symbolic logic? There is not a mention in the article for his contributions to linguistics (verbal aspects etc)

He defined the 3 point system, for verbal clauses, involving E the point of Event, S - point of Speech, and R - point of Reference. Then, one draws these funny little diagrams describing temptral structures in different languages. Yes, diagrams are always cute. Oyd11 22:28, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2nd PhD advisor[edit]

Max Noether or Emmy Noether? Math Geneaology says Max. From the year of the thesis both would be possible. But in 1916 Emmy was in Göttingen, Max in Erlangen. 84.163.107.201 (talk) 23:57, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reichenbach's background[edit]

I think it should be noted that Reichenbach was not just of Jewish ancestry but also of German ancestry (his mother was entirely German. In fact his mother's family was a protestant family that can be traced back generations). This is a rather well known fact. That he did not meet strict Aryan purity laws does not therefore render him "Jewish". As far as I know he certainly was not a practicing Jew, so was neither a Jew religiously. Wikipedia is beginning an odd trend of downplaying the non-Jewish lineage of many great philosophers, thinkers, and scientists. I suggest this be taken note of in the interests of Wikipedia's integrity. It would seem fitting that you place it in the article.
