Harismus is a derivative of a Lenape phrase, possibly meaning Crow's Marsh. Spellings include: Aharsimus, [1]Ahasimus, [2][3]Hasymes, [4] Haassemus, Hahassemes, Hasimus, Horseemes, Hasseme [5], Horsimus [6] Contemporary: ahas meaning crow [7]
