Citing the German Wiki on "Herten" you might want to add this to the english article: Cite: "Vor allem mit Arras besteht eine enge Partnerschaft. So sind z.B. die deutsch-französischen Schüleraustauschprogramme vorbildlich. 1989 bis 2011 bestand auch eine Städtepartnerschaft mit Doncaster im Vereinigten Königreich. Sie wurde von dem europafeindlichen Bürgermeister von Doncaster, Peter Davies, einseitig aufgekündigt mit den Worten Ich kenne nur zwei Wörter auf Deutsch, aber die reichen völlig aus: Auf Wiedersehen!" My Translation: With the Town of Arras (France) above all there is a close partnership. Franco-German student exchange programs work in an examplary manner. There has been a town-partnership from 1989 to 2011 between Doncaster in the UK. This partnership has been cancelled unilaterally by the eurosceptic ( better: eurohostile ) mayor Peter Davies using the words: i only know two words in German, but they are enough: Auf Wiedersehen!".
