What exactly are the defense industry implications[edit]

List of current American high-definition channels Table Needs To Be Reformatted[edit]

The table at the List of current American high-definition channels section is a readability and accessibility nightmare, and needs to be completely reformatted, IMO.

First thing – get rid of the 'Letterbox/Pillarbox' column which is 1) entirely unsourced, and is 2) mostly extraneous info anyway (if this is at all relevant, it can be mentioned in prose, sourced to something). Second, why is 'Broadcast' 'colspanned' across two columns, but not cable?! – the broadcast nets should have a 'Category' as well: call it either 'General' or 'Entertainment'.

Third, my strong advice would be to split this info into two tables – one for networks that broadcast in 720p (e.g. ABC) and one for 1080i (which is most TV networks). This would eliminate another column from the table, and would eliminate a lot (though not all) of the horrible use of rowspan in the table which is a readability/accessibility nightmare.

Finally the 'First launched HD service' date either need to be sourced to something or that column too should be removed from the table.

But the current table is a mess, and seriously needs to be cleaned up. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 00:31, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
