possible move to Hartford in 1997?[edit]

why is there no info on that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.237.54.62 (talk) 22:29, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stylized Titles[edit]

I don't think that putting stylized titles ("A Dynasty Is Born!") on the years when the Patriots won the Super Bowl is very professional. I'm happy for New England, but the celebratory overtone does not read like an encyclopedia. If you give titles to the championship seasons then you have to give them all titles. And I hope they are neutral ones. I left them with the calendar year (e.g. 2001, 2002, 2003) for now.

NPOV Still Questioned?[edit]

I'm confused. If the neutrality elements have been corrected, then shouldn't the dispute indicator be removed?

As for the stylized titles, I think it's an excellent point. With that said, some discussion of the current (or perhaps slipping away) era should mention at least the debate over including it as one of professional sports dynasties.

Working on this page[edit]

In order to really enhance the Patriots' FA, we should add detailed information to this page. Monicasdude provided some great tips and thoughts on detailed business dealings and draft choices, which we can highlight in the main article and add to this one. Fair use rationale for Image:McGinestLawSeymour.jpg[edit]

Image:McGinestLawSeymour.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

New lead section, more work needed[edit]

I added a new lead section. It is the re-edited history section from New England Patriots#History. Also, the article itself needs much work. Much of it is unreferenced, and the organization is a mess. We should probably reorganize it by decade, rather than by random grouping of years. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:34, 15 January 2008 (UTC) uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:New England Patriots logo old.svg[edit]

The image Image:New England Patriots logo old.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

The following images also have this problem:

Assessment comment[edit]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:History of the New England Patriots/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Needs references, inline citations, and expansion of the lead. Also has some formatting issues see History of the New York Giants for an example of a good article on the subject. Quadzilla99 01:15, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also has some recentism issues, the 2001 and 2005 seasons should be given their own articles and then summarized here. Quadzilla99 01:17, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
