Untitled[edit]

Instead of going to all the trouble of trying to make this a full-fledged article with a lead section and such, wouldn't it make more sense to just merge it with the main article on Ohio State University and be done with it? Todd Carnes (talk) 14:02, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

History of the Ohio State University → History of The Ohio State University – The only difference is the capitalization of "The", as it is part of a proper noun and proper nouns are capitalized. Move to History of Ohio State University. This is consistent with the current (non)consensus on the title of the Ohio State University article. As shown on frequent discussions of Talk:Ohio State University, there is considerable debate on whether to include "The" in the title per WP:COMMONAME. Wikipedia article titles are based on the most common name (WP:COMMONAME), not the official name (WP:OFFICIALNAME). That is the issue in the other discussions as to why "the" is not included. Zzyzx11 (talk) 23:35, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
