POV[edit]

The section on independant leagues is rather harshly critical of Hockey Canada. I think it violates WP:NPOV. Comments?

Please sign your comments. I do not believe it violates anything. It is written based mostly off of HC press releases. If anything I think it casts their stance in a fair light. Comparing HC's stances against that of other organizations is very fair (whether it be USA Hockey or not). DMighton (talk) 22:46, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

I agree that the section has a definite bias in its tone, e.g. instead of stating "written warnings", it uses "written threats" and "if it is not a Hockey Canada program, then the training by nature must be inferior", I don't think that is not even a claim made in the HC bulletin, it's the writer's 'spin' on the issue, and by stating it in such a manner implies HC is arrogant. Whether the section is just very poorly written or the writer is in fact biased, the result is not neutral. Wayne61 (talk) 04:54, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I felt it was neutral enough, but I have taken your suggestions and altered the section accordingly. Also, the statement claims that the HC offers the best training programs in the world... which therefore means everyone else is inferior... but you are right, we are not here to draw conclusions for the reader... so I fixed that. Fair use rationale for Image:Team Canada.gif[edit]

Image:Team Canada.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
