Name origin and fake Gaelic[edit]

The name is always pronounced "Hollytown" and never "Holytown" and it reputed to have been originally "Hollowton" mean "the town in the hollow. This makes the invented fake Gaelic name ridiculous, as this name was never ever used - except by some fool with a Gaelic dictionary and no knowledge of the derivation.

The name isnt "fake" its what a Gael would say if they gave the name in Gaelic. "Inverness" is no less fake as an English version of Inbhir Nis.
