Howard 100 Logo[edit]

Has anyone come across a Sirius-created logo that is specific to the Howard 100 channel? The fist logo we're using now is just a generic Howard logo, and the only logo I've found that actually says "Howard 100" on it is the H100 News logo, which isn't really meant to represent the channel as a whole either. --Aaron 23:14, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the fist is the official Howard 100/101 logo.

Danny Bonaduce[edit]

On the Howard 100 page it states that a Danny Bonduce radio show is in development, However I cannot find any website that made an official announcement or sites with rumors supporting this, So unless someone can provide a link or some source to back this statement I am going to remove it. Third Channel?[edit]

The article says it would be 102 and quotes Stern that he can change that whenever he wants (not referenced). However, currently channel 99 is empty. If a third channel is added, wouldn't adding 99 be a good option instead of rearranging the lineup with 102? I'm not trying to predict the future or Sirius' thinking. I was just thinking we remove explicit references to 102 being the definite channel when it could be 99. Thoughts? Bark 17:10, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems reasonable. I wouldn't make any references to 99 in the article though, as this is the first I've heard of it. It is established that he has the option of adding a third channel. We could leave it at that. Foday 08:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I wouldn't want to mention any specific channel number until something official comes done. Interesting note: The poll on sternuncensored.com has listeners wanting a third channel for the WXRK material at this point in time. Bark 13:39, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rename article "Howard 100 and Howard 101"?[edit]

Just a suggestion, as Howard 101 has more different shows than Howard 100 and is prominent in this article. Foday 08:23, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, I don't have a preference either way. If you do that though, the "Howard 100" article needs to be copied to "Howard 100 & 101" (or whatever the name will be). Then, "Howard 100" needs to redirect there. Finally, "Howard 101" would need to redirect to the new article too. Bark 12:56, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I notice a quite a few things here that are pretty off the mark. I've corrected a few though I don't have time to go through it all. If anyone wants to take the time to go through and fix things I don't mind answering specific questions if emailed to me.

Changed "Trivia" to "Notable Firsts"[edit]

I changed to trivia section to notable firsts because of Wikipedia's guideline discouraging Trivia sections. (They tend to attract questionable additions.) However, since both items were firsts , I renamed the section. Hopefully, that will keep additions to relevent and worthy material. --Bark 13:57, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would keep this article, but there is a lot that needs to be done. Firstly, why is there need to post the entire program schedule? Can't we just link it to the sirius.com/howard channel guide? Channel Ownership...[edit]

In the InfoBox it states that the Howard 100 and Howard 101 channels are owned by SiriusXM. I was always under the impression that both channels are directly owned by Howard through one of his companies and leased by SiriusXM to Stern under a long term contract. Given the fact that Stern not only owns all of the content of the Howard Stern Show going as far back as his days in Detroit (WWWW-FM), Washington (WWDC-FM) and New York City (WNBC-AM and WXRK-FM) to the present on SiriusXM as well as "The Howard Stern Show", "Howard 100" and "Howard 101" trademarks its hard to believe SiriusXM has any involvement with the day to day operations except of course for the distribution end and that Stern and his CEO Marci Turk who answers only to him (Stern) and NOT SiriusXM control what does and doesn't go on the air and that anyone associated with this show including Robin, Fred, Baba Booey (Gary) and even Ronnie and Scott are contracted and paid by Stern's company. I'm going to look into this further before I make any type of changes but I'd like to heard some opinions from you guys. YborCityJohn (talk) 07:36, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

YborCityJohn, Your premise is a bit confusing. "...both channels are directly owned by Howard..." and "...leased by SiriusXm to Stern...". Here is some public information that might clear up some of the confusion: ^[1]. The simplest model to consider between Howard and Sirius would be 1. Sirius makes some of its income through its 32 million + subscribers via a proprietary satellite signal to a proprietary satellite receiver. 2. They contract Stern and the rights to some or all of his material for a period of time.

So you are correct, Howard Stern owns all his material ^[2] and for a very large royalty check through a considerable period of time (12 years according to the first link I posted above) Sirius has the rights to distribute him and his material through their system. It is unlikely that Howard leases anything from Sirius. It is more likely that Sirius gives Howard a percentage of earnings based on his shows/branding/advertising/etc. Its is very likely that he leases (or some other more specific contract term) the rights of his material to Sirius as part of the overall package for what he refers to in the above article as a "Partnership".

I'm glad you mentioned it because the topic of ownership in the context of superstar media contracts can be very complex and confusing. I suspect Howard had enough resources and a support team to get the very best contract possible for his show, himself and his people, but that is not always the case for stars and their contracts with mega media outlets.
