Computer science program[edit]

Hutch Tech was also one of the first schools to ever offer a four year computer science program. --66.8.208.191 18:12, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I love the CCNA program they ovver in it as well. I went during 2001-2005 and the only thing I regret is that they didn't do the CCNA3/CCN4 --WolfnixTalk • 01:37, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV violation?[edit]

This article has a tone similar to an advertisement, as if it is trying to promote Hutch Tech. Wikipedia's core policy is NPOV (Neutral Point of View). Please change the tone of the article so it sounds less like a pamphlet. 168.169.176.3 (talk) 18:35, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Talking about a school in my opinion would be hard to show without promoting. I have tried to fix it some. Opinions please? --WolfnixTalk • 01:12, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article Page Revamp and Infobox added[edit]

I have added the infobox for this school with the information from both [1] and the internal information I know from attending this high-school. I have also separated this article and made it more like an real article not a lump of text. Used School not SecSchool for infobox for a more sleek look. Opinions please. --WolfnixTalk • 01:13, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

I am assessing this article for WikiProject Schools following a request, and I'm regrading it as C / Low. The school could deserve higher importance, particularly with its rankings, though more evidence of importance is probably needed in the article before this can be justified. The main issue with the article at present is referencing, see WP:V and WP:IRS, as much of the article is unsourced. References should also use citation templates where possible, see WP:CITET. The article could do with further expansion, see WP:WPSCH/AG#S for missing sections. The 'In the news' section should probably be merged into the 'History' section, since news is history. The lead will need to expand as the article gets bigger, see WP:LEAD. Finally, more pictures are always good (as long as they follow copyright policies). Peer Review[edit]

--WolfnixTalk • 07:56, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Informal opinion per IRC request.[edit]

Too many pictures too high in the article - disturbs the prose, especially the table of contents.

  • Lede's a bit thin - should touch very briefly upon notable topics addressed in following sections. Two more sentences should do.
  • Per WP:MOS, citations aren't usually desirable in the lede, as long as claims are supported in following sections. History: first sentence starts off awkwardly: better to be as specific sooner - "The high school was originally housed within Elementary School No. 11". Citations: Per WP:MOS citations follow punctuation,(after) but not(before). Some awkward sentences - "A great demand for ...".
  • Try reading the prose aloud to hear how it flows, and what's missing.
  • The Clifford Stoll claim needs a citation in this article (borrow one from Clifford Stoll), because he's still alive, and the spirit of WP:BLP demands it.
  • The two paragraphs following are quite lonely without citations, won't you please give, today?
  • Seek out a school-related WP:GA Good Article for a positive example for article goals. --revised Lexein (talk) 22:31, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
