Is there a reference?[edit]

The article says: "It is suggested that impurities in the water of the area cause an abnormally high rate of polio, explaing Roosevelt's own condition." Does anyone really believe that impurities in the water cause polio? Unless someone provides a reference for this nonsensical-sounding claim, I'll delete it. Thats not true[edit]

The Hudson river is contaminated but it does not cause a high rate of polio, and President Roosevelt did not get polio from the Hudson River but contracted it some time before his trip to Campobello Island, New Brunswick--Mottmon 21:51, 1 December 2006 (UTC) Information from[1][reply]
