Alan Parsons Project album[edit]

At present it's stated that this album was "originally inspired by Asimov's stories". Which is suspect, given that the inlay blurb is "I ROBOT... THE STORY OF THE RISE OF THE MACHINE AND THE DECLINE OF MAN, WHICH PARADOXICALLY COINCIDED WITH HIS DISCOVERY OF THE WHEEL... AND A WARNING THAT HIS BRIEF DOMINANCE OF THIS PLANET WILL PROBABLY END, BECAUSE MAN TRIED TO CREATE ROBOT IN HIS OWN IMAGE.", which is almost diametrically opposite to the view of Asimov's stories. The stories were originally written because Asimov was tired of almost all robot stories up to then being thinly-disguised rewrites of Frankenstein (as Hollywood robot stories tend to be to this day).

Reading the article, it would appear that the album was originally meant to be inspired by the stories, but rights issues prevented this. — Korax1214 (talk) 08:00, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
