Talk:IBM Research – Ireland
- This article is simply stating facts. I don't see what is so promotional about a lab being the only place within IBM where they specialize in a particular direction. 21:30, 16 October 2012 User:126.96.36.199
This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because first, all I did was relocate the content of an existing page (IBM Dublin Research Laboratory, which had existed uncontested since October 2012) to a new one (this page); second, I did so because "IBM Research – Ireland" is the proper name for the lab (since a reorganization in IBM's research division).
This seemed cleaner and more authentic to Wikipedia's mission than simply creating a redirect for "IBM Research – Ireland" to a page with the proper content but the wrong name.
I have already begun fleshing this article out since seeing this notice. All efforts are by a contributor of +20,000 edits wholly in good faith. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this explanation. Yours, Wikiuser100 (talk) 15:02, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Wikiuser100: Yes, I see @DGG: declined a speedy for this in 2012. We have IBM Hursley (though that redirects to Hursley House as the building is notable rather than IBM occupying it), so if the same can be done here that might be a way of making it stick. I would recommend an admin does a history merge on IBM Dublin Research Laboratory so the history can all be coallated in one place. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:51, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
