Alien and Scooby-Doo[edit]

Imagine a cross-over of Alien and Scooby-Doo, and you've just about got it right. -- Karada 10:03, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Overall, this is a really impressive, well-written article. I just found a few little things to nitpick:

  • Sandy obliterates important hardware — including the base transmitter — with explosive charges - per WP:DASH these emdashes should be endashes (–) or they should be unspaced.
  • I'm not quite sure how valuable or relevant it is to mention Peter Boyle's Oscar win of two decades later.
  • Is the cast list in any particular order? It's not alphabetical, and I would've assumed at least that Sandy would be at the top, if anything.
    • I think that I organised the cast list (and the contents of the cast parameter in the infobox) to match the end credits order on the DVD release. Since the biggest contribution comes from Geeson, I've switched her name with that of Clarke. SuperMarioMan 11:15, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Inseminoid attracted positive critical reception on its original release, at one point reaching fifth position in the British film charts of 1981 - I was confused by this, since I assumed "British film charts" related to box office perfomance, which isn't necessarily related to "positive critical reception". I skimmed the source for clarification but couldn't see where this was mentioned; could you please clarify and point me to where this is said in the source?
  • In France, it ranked seventh - as above, if this refers to box office charts then it isn't critical reception.
    • According to Warren in [1] (Footnote 1), "Even without a countrywide review, Inseminoid was generally well received by the critics, and more importantly, by the cinema-going public. It gained hold-overs in many parts of the country and reached the number 5 position in the UK top films. In France it reached number 7, and in America it was listed as one of the top ten best films by the Los Angeles Times."
    • And in [2] (Footnote 5), "Inseminoid was very successful throughout the world." said Warren. "It didn't reach the #1 spot in the UK as did Terror, but Inseminoid was in the Top Five."
    • I've added the earlier citation to the first sentence highlighted above and tried to differentiate the forms of "reception" in terms of how the film was both critically and commercially received. SuperMarioMan 11:15, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Horror Planet is a film to run, run away from — fast." - as above re: dashes.

I'll put the GAN on hold for seven days to allow you to respond and make changes. Again, great work. 97198 (talk) 06:46, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for this review. I've struck through points that have been resolved. SuperMarioMan 11:15, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
All the changes look fine, so I'll go ahead and promote the article. :) 97198 (talk) 05:18, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not Psychosis[edit]

I disagree that Sandy was suffering from psychosis. There was no evidence that she was having delusions, hallucinations, etc.

She was likely being controlled by the alien creature biologically, like some actual parasites are capable of. See: behavior-altering parasite.

I am not sure how to rewrite the sentence that said she developed psychosis. Pantstrovich (talk) 10:14, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There was a scene in which she appeared to have a dream involving the doctor giving her an injection, which he hadn't yet, but the movie was unclear about what exactly caused that.
I still think that it was alien mind control, either way, and that "psychosis" is a real mental health concern, that can't really be applied to a vague sci-fi horror, video nasty. Parasitic behaviour is much more likely in a movie like this. Pantstrovich (talk) 10:32, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
