Merging in The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications[edit]

I notice that an IP made "The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications" into a redirect to this page. This was undone by Discospinster who then tagged it as a proposed merge. Making it a redirect is reasonable: They are about the same subject and The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications is just a stub. I guess that even for a stub there is technically WP:HISTMERGE issues. Anyone want to comment? Or should I just reinstate the redirect? I will leave messages with Rich Farmbrough and Jitse Niesen, the two people who contributed most to the stub. Yaris678 (talk) 14:16, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with that. I was just concerned that there should be a proper history merge which I myself did not know how to do. ... discospinster talk 15:25, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
A merge is great, no histmerge is needed unless information is copied, and even then a simple note in the edit summary will often suffice. (Merged content from XXX by user1, user2, user3.) Rich Farmbrough, 16:00, 2 August 2012 (UTC).
Cool. Thanks Rich. I have reinstated the redirect. I couldn't see any info that needs copying across but if I've missed anything then obviously that can still be done now (ideally with attribution in the way Rich describes). Yaris678 (talk) 16:14, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
