[edit] Lead sent

I tagged the lead sentence of the accompanying article for not stating what the topic is. I suspect that besides "International", "International (usage)" would accurately describe it, but it's just not obvious what it's thrust is. It may help if some editors respond to what is right or wrong with this possible lead 'graph:

International is an adjective used with multiple senses of "crossing boundaries between nations". (Corresponding senses are implicit in the usage of the noun "international" that designates a thing that is international in scope.) In many cases, the type of thing or activity under discussion plays a large role in establishing or limiting, via logic or custom, the applicable sense.

[edit] Introduction

I edited the introduction much intending to make it more approachable and understandable. A header, and 2 ref's for the word definition. Thus, I guess the 'lead too short' should now be removed.
