Theme Song[edit]

Anyone else notice that the Interstate '76 theme song sounds near exactly like the song "Get The Funk Out" by the Johnson Brothers? It sounds like an insturmental version of the song. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.163.207.74 (talk) 16:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are completely right! The song can be found at youtube and the similarity is extreme. You might think that the themesong was a version of this song instead of being an independed title... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.223.93.188 (talk) 06:52, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Seperate page for Bullmark?[edit]

The band who performed the soundtrack for Interstate '76 are famous in their own right, and should be given a seperate page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SimonHova (talkcontribs) 16:51, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK then, go create it. -mattbuck (Talk) 09:26, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I76 Hacking[edit]

This game was pretty hacked in multiplayer from people using non-standard cars/carparts/life points. And there was also the F11 bug where tapping the button would make you immune for a second or two, and allow you to scale walls, drive through obstacles, negate fall damage, and set your car right-side up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goatonastik (talkcontribs) 07:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are either particularly notable? If so, feel free to add. -mattbuck (Talk) 10:48, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The F11 key changes screen resolution in 8-bit, however, since the resolution is locked in 16-bit pressing the key causes the bug as described. It can be used by anyone in 16-bit rendering, is considered a bug and not a hack but is frowned upon in on-line play. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.250.167.13 (talk) 22:58, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I76 Secret vehicles[edit]

I wonder would it be worth mentioning the secret vehicles in this article?

These could be accessed by creating a variant of the Phaedra Rattler and typing the code as the variants name. If my memory serves me right the special or "secret" vehicles could be usually found in the game but were inaccessible for a reason or an other. These consisted of the tank (variant name 'Knat'), the helicopter ('Retpocileh': Note the typing of the name backwards in both cases) and the Roswell U.F.O (I'm not sure, but I think it was 'Thetruthishere'). In the Nitro riders there were a hotairballoon (variant 'Hotair') which could also be gained. In the melee mode, the only way to rearm the helicopter (neither the saucer nor the balloon had any armament exept the handheld weapon thought their structural rigidity or "health" could be replenished) was to commit suicide over the healing bunker. This could be done by typing 'control-alt-x' simultaneously. If positioned correctly over the bunker the copter would reappear fully armed but if mispalced it would hit the ground and explode. Finally there were one special vehicle which I have no code and I'm not even sure if it could be made available: The tractor. It can be found at dillerent locations, at least in a farm beside a barn in one of the early levels where Taurus drives alongside the player/Groove, and in one level in the Nitro riders. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.223.93.188 (talk) 16:47, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canceled Sequel Interstate '77[edit]

Why is there no mention of Interstate '77? I know it was planned but canceled. I remember from PC Gamer (I believe anyways) that in that game is that you were suppose to control Taurus, and he had a new female partner (can't remember if it's another Champion or not.) Does anyone else remember the canceled sequel?

Are you sure you're not thinking of Interstate 82? You control Taurus and your partner is Skye, Groove's sister. In the single player campaign you're rescuing the kidnapped Groove. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.236.178.228 (talk) 03:08, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List Of Vehicles[edit]

So there used to be a list of vehicles on here by make & model that also listed their rear world counterparts such as Chassy Blues Phaedra Rattler(Shelby Cobra), who the hell took the list off? I could really use it and no other website has it. IT covered vehicles from I76, I82, V8 and V8 2ND. (Jax Rhapsody) 4:32pm, Dec 2 2010 (His Life as a... 21:35, 2 December 2010 (UTC))[reply]

That list was removed per WP:GAMECRUFT a while back. Eik Corell (talk) 23:07, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I still don't understand. What because they [a main point of the game] were deemed unimportant for the page? Jax Rhapsody —Preceding undated comment added 08:27, 3 December 2010 (UTC).[reply]
What wikipedia is not incluedes "a game guide" and "a repository of indiscriminate information". I agree that it's interesting to know what vehicles the cars are based on, but the list is not verifiable and is in fact original research. Nor do I feel it is notable that the ABX AMZ was "specific car". The information would be useful on gamefaqs, much like information on how to find every hidden package in a GTA game, but it's not notable to know what each car is. It's mentioned that the cars are based on real life, maybe we can settle on adding "for example, the Courcheval Cavera is based on...." -mattbuck (Talk) 09:15, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
