note[edit]

Adding an image that shows both villi and microvilli and how they relate would improve the functional description. McortNGHH (talk) 18:54, 12 January 2016 (UTC) The image of columnar cells can be improved by making a new drawing and adding more features (nucleus, intestinal lumin, rest of mucosal layer, tight junctions, villi (vs another drawing without villi to represent cell of colon), etc. McortNGHH (talk) 18:45, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mcort really nice work. If you don't mind, and since you have the literature at your finger tips from this great content building you have been doing, would you please consider reviewing the Intestinal permeability to make sure that the new content you added here, and the content there, are in SYNC - both up to date in content and sourcing, and singing the same song? That would be amazing. thx Jytdog (talk) 19:36, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion Jytdog, I'll work on that. However, there is still a bit left to do here. BTW, we can all thank User:BallenaBlanca for the excellent work she did on the Spanish version, Barrera intestinal. Much of the text I used was based on translations of work done there and two images were also adapted. McortNGHH (talk) 07:04, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your words, McortNGHH! You have done an excellent job too! You're very kind. We also have to thank Sanador2.0, with whom I was working and is an excellent editor.
Possibly interest you also this other image
(from Permeabilidad intestinal), which can be adapted for Intestinal permeability. I will translate, so you can use it.
Best regards. --BallenaBlanca (talk) 07:37, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Translated! Review if there is something to correct, please. Best regards. --BallenaBlanca (talk) 08:08, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The opening of intercellular tight junctions (increased intestinal permeability) allows uncontrolled passage of substances into the bloodstream, with consequent possible development of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, infections, allergies or cancers, both intestinal and in other organs of the body.
I like it! It has just the right amount of information. Thanks. I'll see if I can incorporate it during my next 'wikisession'. I enjoyed the synergy created during this project by translating/adapting information. I often wonder about how synced the various language wikipedias are. Well, in this case, my wondering paid off well. McortNGHH (talk) 09:24, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I am very happy to help! I love working in a team, especially here in the English wiki, because English is not my native language. Possibly you could see if you can incorporate some of this page I also created (and worked with Sanador2.0 to improve it), to english version: Permeabilidad intestinal. Increased intestinal permeability is one of the most important and most promising areas where are focusing new research. If I can help in something else, I'll be happy to do so. Again, thank you very much for your work and your kindness! Best regards. --BallenaBlanca (talk) 09:48, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Ok! This will continue our work together. I can use the same methodology - a Google translation to start, clean up, check articles that you cite, expand if necessary and post section by section. I too agree that the intestinal barrier (it's actually a term used by some in the field) is very important and the root of many illnesses. I think people with these illnesses that use wikipedia should be able to 'drill down' to the tissue and cellular level from the links on the page they first land on. This is why I am working at the most basic level first and later intend to work 'up' to the illness pages. It's a pleasure to 'work' with you and Sanador2.0.
