Question[edit]

I thought that Burgundy was a possession of Philip I of Spain, and that Milan was a possession of The Crown of Aragon rather than both being held by the King of France? Were they disputed titles? MC 17:09, 10th March 2007

The historical Duchy of Burgundy (in central France) had actually been seized by the French crown in 1477; what Philip still had was the Burgundian Circle (which was often referred to as Burgundy as well).
As far as I know, Milan was never an Aragonese possession; the Duchy eventually became a Spanish one, but that didn't take place until the reign of Charles. Milan became permanently Spanish in 1535, with the death of the last Sforza duke. Kirill Lokshin 18:47, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
