Postponed[edit]

Elections has been postponed already. Ivoiran Electoral Commission stated it is impossible to hold the election this year,due to delays with registration vote. Organization[edit]

This puts in content to the election section that is not "election" which by precedence sets the results. the lead up to the 2nd round is more relevant to either campaign or something else not as part of the section on results. This lumped everythign into the background and moved issues and pre-election reaction into "election and aftermath."Lihaas (talk) 08:30, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If yo dont want to edit then dont edit it, we work by consensus, i explained what is said and youve refused to discuss it. Youre welcome to constructively edit it and respond to what i said, you are not welcome to take over the article without discussion. Source can duly be fixed, and content was also moved around to wrong section, hence disorganised as well) (Boldly, ill admit there was nothing wrong, but then reverted the change back needs consensus)
At any rate, wikipedia is not a weblog to list everything by timeline (as is oftent he case), it is to organise content in an encyclopaedic manner. (which im not saying is always the case, but it can be worked on)Lihaas (talk) 09:13, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You've got events from the second round scattered in with events from the first round. Don't you think there should be some distinction? I don't see how an ordinary reader could understand the article the way it's constructed now. Everyking (talk) 13:35, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, i understand your cocnerns. Perhaps 2 sections within the campaign for the different rounds would be better? The sections moved into election did not match that part.

I did some more reorganization. My main concern is to keep the events happening now—the election itself, and the events following it—separate from the background content about preparations for the election that took place years ago. It's asking a lot for a reader who wants to read about the ongoing controversy to find it in the middle of the article, in between some stuff that happened in 2007. It's fine to sort things into sections; I just want the organization of the article to be roughly in sync with the chronology of events. Everyking (talk) 19:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vote Counts[edit]

If the percentages are in contention, then presumably so are the numbers. However, while the two sets of data refer to different rounds of voting, the infobox should make this clear. User:SamB135 started a page 2010 Ivory Coast crisis. This page, with its long historical run-up, is getting long. I am moving post election material to the new article.

Biased French Propaganda[edit]

Search for "AFP" Agence France-Presse The AFP is the most used source for this page. This news source is financed by the French government. It has a history and reputation as a French government propaganda source. Consider the validity of this source in light of France's involvement in Ivory Coast.

France fought against Ivory Coast. French troops are based in Ivory Coast. France has repeatedly occupied parts of Ivory Coast. The whole history of Ivory Coast has been of struggle to escape from France.

Using the French media as a source is on a par with using Radio Liberty (US CIA funded) as a source on the US war in Vietnam. Incredibly biased propaganda.
