It was written that he was born into a family of Jewish descent and that his father was French and his mother was Spanish.I've deleted it.

About the first part (family of Jewish descent),the only source appears to be an old magazine unavailable online. Regarding the second piece of info, there is no source.

It must also be noted that his last name "Chatelain" is a (gentile) Norman/French last name not found among Jewish families. If his mother is Spanish, it's doubtful she's Jewish as Jews were expelled from Spain and the current small Jewish community is very recent (from the 80s/90s so after presumably his mother's Spanish family settled in France), unless of course there was a confusion between Spanish and Sephardi. There are quite a few Sephardi Jews in France but they are from North Africa and don't call themselves "Spanish". It seems a much more plausible version if his mother does have Jewish origins.

Anyway it's highly certain he has non-Jewish origins while he may well not have any Jewish ancestry. But if he has, it should be written he has Jewish ancestry eg. "he was born into a family of Jewish descent" implies both of his parents have Jewish ancestry and that he doesn't have "relevant" gentile ancestry.
