Untitled[edit]

1.In what sense was Jürgen Moser classified as an American Scientist if he was born in Germany? Did he spend lots of time at American universities? Looking at the history, a past revision has his nationality marked as American not German. Perhaps the cat should be changed now but I don't know the facts --Kymara 14:23, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

While born in Germany, being of German parentage, and having studied in Germany, Jürgen Moser spent the majority of his professional carreer at an American University, namely at New York University. Apart from one year as a postdoc, he never had any academic appointment in Germany and was a citizen of the USA. The cat "American Scientist" seems appropriate in view of also being in the cat "German mathematician". 129.234.252.66 (talk) 12:28, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
