Incorrect redirect[edit]

James L. Watson the American Sinologist and anthropologist redirects to James Lopez Watson the judge. This is probably a mistake. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.40.139.164 (talk) 10:47, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, now sorted. Boleyn2 (talk) 12:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unless I'm mistaken, he's already there, alphabetized between James Craig Watson and James Eli Watson. Princess Lirin (talk) 21:57, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DNA scientist[edit]

How is James D. Watson not the primary topic here? Woodshed (talk) 21:21, 17 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

James WatsonJames Watson (disambiguation)

I wish to move James Watson, currently a dab page, to James Watson (disambiguation), and to then redirect James Watson to James D. Watson as the primary topic. (I would have been inclined to be bold and moved it myself, but I cannot b/c the explicit dab page already exists.)

I don't think it's particularly controversial to suggest that the scientist who discovered DNA, a household name, is the clear primary topic. Woodshed (talk) 10:31, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support move - James D. Watson is undoubtedly the primary topic. StAnselm (talk) 10:56, 22 January 2013 (UTC) And also support the extra move detailed below. StAnselm (talk) 19:38, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support proposed move. Also Support moving James D. Watson to the base name, since the stats also appear to show that he is more commonly referred to without the middle initial. -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:10, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support and move James D. Watson to James Watson per JHunterJ. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:20, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support both. The statistics you provide are excellent justification. Thincat (talk) 21:23, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Excellent showing of justification for a move. bd2412 T 13:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the wholesale process of moving the DNA scientist to James Watson and the dab page to "...(disambiguation)", with appropriate fixing of incoming links. PamD 15:09, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
