List of Animated Films link[edit]

Do we really need this link? Yeah, Peach is animated, but then we would have to put List of Films at the bottom of every live-action movie page. There has to be only 1 animated film and including this link seems very vague.PowderedToastMan 05:56, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:James and the giant peach.jpg[edit]

Image:James and the giant peach.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

BetacommandBot 04:00, 1 October 2007 (UTC) This page says the musical is an adaptation of the film. It is not: the stage musical is based on the book, not the film. The play and the film are entirely different adaptations of the book, with different songs by different songwriters.[reply]

Tags[edit]

This article has no references or citations of any kind. This is especially problematic in a section that compares book and film, as the lack of references would tend to imply it is original research, which isn't allowed on Wikipedia. Hopefully, someone will attend to this. Wildhartlivie (talk) 08:59, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind the lack of citations; I just don't think a simplistic list of changes from the novel to the film is all that productive in an encyclopedia article. I've removed it. Thegreatcurve (talk) 11:43, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Differences[edit]

I have removed the differences between the source and the film and placed them here. If anyone wants to re-add them, please integrate them into the article, preferably in "Production", and provide sources to establish notability. BOVINEBOY2008 11:39, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New Release Date For The DVD Version[edit]

According to UltimateDisney.com, James and the Giant Peach will make it's Blu-Ray + DVD combo pack debut on August 3, 2010. Seven weeks later on September 14, it will be released as a stand alone DVD, the same day as the new release of the 25th Anniversary Edition of The Black Cauldron. Nostalgia Critic[edit]

Post-credits Scene[edit]

Why is there no mention of the film’s post-credits scene on this page? 92.60.192.241 (talk) 20:47, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Annecy Cristal winner[edit]

Why can't I put the Category:Annecy_Cristal_for_a_Feature_Film_winners on this page since it actually did won the prize?

Hi Espngeek, if it did win the prize, then find a reliable citation for that and add the information (and year date) to the article itself. Categories can only be added if the information already exists, and is cited, in the article. Softlavender (talk) 22:21, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adaptations section - The musical is not an adaptation of the film. It is based on the book.[edit]

Why is this article protected?

This page says that the stage musical is based on the film but it is not. The stage musical is a totally unrelated adaptation of the novel, not based on the film. I want to correct the error but I can't because the article is protected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.6.162.236 (talk) 19:52, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

box office bomb[edit]

Is the reason for the film's failure that it was released under The Walt Disney Pictures label or the release date? I think it would have succeeded if it was released under the Touchstone label instead because it's rated PG like the The Nightmare Before Christmas which was a success at the box office either due to positive reviews or being released on October 29 which is near Halloween. --Evope (talk) 03:46, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Adaptations" section should be removed. The stage musical is based on the book, not the film. It should not be listed as an adaptation of the film. Dannypittstoller (talk) 12:28, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
