Date of Guhyasamaja Tantra[edit]

The article states: "The first proper mention of a Buddhist Pantheon appears in the 3-4th century Guhyasamāja, in which five Buddhas are mentionned, the emanations of which constitute a family". This is misleading. The idea that the Guhyasamaja dates to the 3/4th century CE is rather old-fashioned. It should now be dated to the early or probably mid-8th century at the earliest. It is in fact the Mahavarirocana-abhisambodhi-sutra which seems to have the earliest organized pantheon ~ and this text should be dated to around the mid-7th century CE. Perhaps the article could be revised to reflect this.-- अनाम गुमनाम 20:41, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
