Jerome Swartz Settles Insider Trading Suit and other suits with Symbol and Plaintiff's

Outlining settlement specifics with Swartz, Symbol Technologies, Inc, press release stated, "The agreement calls for Swartz to pay $4 million in cash to the class to settle the Pinkowitz and Hoyle class action lawsuits. In addition, and subject to his dismissal from the Gold case, Swartz has agreed to pay $7.2 million in cash to Symbol and to forfeit stock options having a value of $2.9 million or to exercise those options and pay approximately $2.9 million in cash or stock to the Company. This settlement with Swartz is in addition to his agreement in July 2003 to relinquish approximately two years of salary, bonus and stock options remaining under his prior employment agreement. Jerome Swartz along with other top executives of Symbol was accused of insider trading, issuing materially false and misleading statements, in violation of securities laws along with other allegations in a another law suit.
