Protective barrier?[edit]

The article states that jinmaku were erected as a barrier, to protect soldiers in an encampment. How was this protection achieved? How effective was it as a "barrier"? It doesn't seem like a curtain would be of much protection. Boneyard90 (talk) 08:17, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
