Does anyone know if this John Wilson played for Penrith Panthers from 1972 to 1974? There's an ambiguous link on List of Penrith Panthers players. The years seem to match up, but I haven't been able to find any evidence online. Just getting the Panthers player's birth year would be enough to disambiguate it. Well, that page seems to be fairly confused. It shows his birthdate as 2 July 1978, but then shows career dates from 1969 to 1976. Unless he somehow figured out how to play rugby at the tender age of -9, RLP is conflating John Wilson (New Zealand rugby league) with John Wilson (Australian rugby league). Afaik, the NZRL didn't select players from overseas to play for the Kiwis until the 1980's, which means that the NZ John Wilson must be different from the John Wilson that played for Parramatta and Penrith (assuming they are the same person). Mattlore (talk) 20:58, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
