The distance of the Marathon is 26 miles 385 yards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Missaeagle (talkcontribs) 21:57, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Marathon times[edit]

The cited finish times for 1908 Boston and 1907 Yonkers (2:26:34 and 2:30:38) seem highly unlikely to be accurate. The personal best of Dorando Pietri was 2:38:28. The world best marathon time went below 2:30:00 only after 1920. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.120.61.12 (talk) 15:13, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

800 mistake[edit]

I removed the 1:53 800m result attributed to him in 1912. It's only in Brinkster and seems like a database / same name mistake, as he has no other 800m races on the record that I can see and he should have been coaching then, no longer competing. Habst (talk) 20:57, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
