[edit] Juan/Joan

The mother tongue of Prim was Catalan, as evrybody until the big immigration move from the rest of Spain in the yers 50-60-70 in the XX century. So, the name should to be Joan.

I agree that the proper name for the article is Joan Prim, and is the one most modern bibliography uses. I will move if no one opposes.--RR (talk) 15:40, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
What a load of bullshit. Prim never said or wrote that his name was Joan and not Juan in his life - at least not while he was an adult and a public figure. This is not surprising since Catalan nationalism did not really take off until the 1880s, after his death. He acted and considered himeslf during his entire career as a Spanish military and political figure. And what is this crap about everybody speaking Catalan until "the big immigration move from the rest of Spain in the yers 50-60-70" - Barcelona was already predominatly Castilian speaking in the 17th century. Catalan did not become again a language of prestige until well late into the 19th century, and an administrative one only in the 20th. Wikipedia should be ashamed of assisting modern catalanists in their quest to distort History in their favor.--150.244.28.16 (talk) 08:08, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit] WPMILHIST Assessment

A good start; could probably benefit from some headings - something as simple as separating the introduction from the biography would do wonders, I think, for the overall appearance of the article. LordAmeth 20:01, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
