[edit] Dame

Dame Helen Mirren has dame in front of her name on Wikipedia. Why not Julie Andrews? 68.100.66.192 (talk) 01:52, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Done, as is common according Wikipedia guidelines. Demophon (talk) 13:32, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Life

We say she's a gay icon but that section doesn't state she IS gay and there's no personal life section. Dis she or someone else delete it?218.102.180.84 (talk) 10:21, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

People can be gay icons without being gay themselves. Dame Julie has publicly denied being gay in at least one or two interviews, so any statements to the contrary will probably classify as speculation. Sundayinthepark2010 (talk) 06:53, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit] Botched throat surgery?

Nevermind. Somehow I missed the brief mention of this here. Carry on. :D

[edit] tax exile

I have some doubts that she was made a dame for services to tax exile.93.41.177.6 (talk) 22:39, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Philip Willan.

[edit] Early Life

I've redirected a dead link to properly source stuff about her parentage (footnote 3). That line also cites Spindler in the same place, implying that Spindler (1989) is a source for a revelation Andrews didn't make until 2008. I do not have Spindler, but I presume the citation is meant to refer to something earlier in the line - I think it should either be placed against the facts it supports or removed altogether TriumFant (talk) 21:17, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

From the beginning of the 'early life' paragraph, she is being called "Julia Wells" and her name is later switched to "Julie Andrew" for the rest of the article. It's a bit confusing.. maybe we should change it to the same name..? Thewisesophie (talk) 02:20, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Done. There was nothing stopping you, by the way! :) TriumFant (talk) 17:31, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Later Career

In 1998 Julie Andrews hosted "Hey Mr Producer", a one night only celebration of the musicals of Cameron Macintosh at London's Lyceum Theatre

In 2004 she presented Martin Starger's TV series "Broadway. The American Musical" a six part history of Broadway.---- —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bashsreetkid (talkcontribs) 11:24, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

The "Filmography" section has lost some of its formatting, and the "Honors" table has some missing info in the last 3 entries. I'm not qualified to do it, but thought I'd mention it so someone else might take the initiative to do so Esprix (talk) 14:59, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

I fixed the Filmography table format and added to the Honors table--thanks for mentioning it!Flami72 (talk) 15:21, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
