Confusing sentence needs rewrite[edit]

Under the heading "Characteristics of art", the second sentence states "In the forefront of the historical picture, but its main theme - not the struggle of heroes, as in classicism, and the fate of the huge human masses." This is more than a little confusingly written. It is lacking an essential verb (and possibly more than that), but that verb is impossible for me to deduce from the context. Can anyone help rewrite this so it will make sense? Bricology (talk) 23:00, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
