FYI ... I knew co-writer Dick Heard (now deceased). Dick told me that this song was written for someone other than Elvis (I don't remember who). While the song was "on hold" for a response from that singer, Eddie Rabbitt got it pitched to Elvis and accepted by Elvis. So the offer to the first singer was withdrawn and this caused some ruffled feathers with that singer and his team. Since it was only going to be the B side, see the image of the record sleeve in the main article, this flap with the other singer took on more weight at the time.
