Still doesn't make sense[edit]

I suspect this will go precisely nowhere given the defensive response given to the last person to point out an issue, but this article's introduction needs rewriting by someone qualified to do so in plain English. Obviously if I understood it I would be able to do that (and probably wouldn't be looking up the topic on Wikipedia) but (like the last person to bring this up) I don't know what I don't know, I came here to learn something and couldn't. New potential trigger: Kosmos 1408 debris[edit]

Following the recent Russian ASAT test, is it worth adding a paragraph under the "potential triggers" section discussing the debris from Kosmos 1408 and the risk of it triggering Kessler Syndrome? 77.95.179.227 (talk) 14:45, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Something along the lines of "The recent destruction of the Kosmos 1408 satellite by a Russian ASAT missile has created a large debris cloud, with 1500 pieces of debris being tracked and an estimated hundreds of thousands of pieces too small to track. Since the satellite was in a polar orbit, and its debris has spread out between the altitudes of 300km and 1000km, it could potentially collide with any LEO satellite, including the ISS and Chinese Space Station." Just as a summary, and link it to the Kosmos 1408 page for more details. Doesn't make sense[edit]

Capitalization issue[edit]

Under the see also section, there is "P78-1 – Artificial satellite, us department of Defense" instead of "P78-1 – Artificial satellite, US Department of Defense". I'm not sure how to fix this as the description seems to be auto-populated. Astromarsy (talk) 04:38, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
