Image of Killaloe[edit]

Shouldn't this image be deleted as it is a image of Ballina from Killaloe rather than the other way round —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lukec905 (talkcontribs) 12:46, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair point, done! Thanks! Fin© 13:57, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

the dreaded Star Trek reference[edit]

On ST: Voyager, one popular holodeck program is the Irish town of Fair Haven. There's a milepost in town with one arrow pointing to Killaloe but it's misspelled Killalow. 71.163.114.49 (talk) 20:28, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Diocese of Killaloe[edit]

Somebody removed The Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe is the second largest diocese in Ireland. His arguments (according to the summary) are: "Diocese not based in Killaloe, therefore irrelevant to this article" and "Nothing to that effect on article on Diocese, or on diocesan website".

True, the offices are based in Ennis. But when the seat was moved, a name like the "Diocese of Ennis" would have been more logical. This removal is - in my opinion - an utter disrespect for the history and tradition of the Killaloe Cathedral (in pre-reformation times the seat of the - catholic - bishop), Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe and Killaloe, County Clare. The Banner talk 21:04, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contributors' opinions about whether it was respectful to tradition are not appropriate content for an encyclopaedia. This publication is concerned with the facts, but only those facts that are relevant. The size of an entity that happens to have the same name, comparative to other such entities, is not relevant, especially in the lede. It would be relevant to describe the establishment of the diocese, and date of removal of the seat, in the history section. If appropriate reliable sources discussing the justice of that change can be found, I would suggest that the history section of the cathedral article would be the most appropriate place for them. Kevin McE (talk) 07:17, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, your removal was an opinion too without valid arguments.
But instead of editwarring, I suggest to await the arguments of others. The Banner talk 11:10, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nonsense: I have introduced no unsupported opinion to the article. Explain yourself or retract the accusation. Kevin McE (talk) 07:07, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Let us await the comments of other editors on your removal instead of throwing in an attitude. The Banner talk 11:09, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If you are not willing to defend your accusation that I have broken the rules of Wikipedia by introducing an argument without valid argument, then withdraw it. The only alternative is that you display yourself as someone with no respect or ethics. Kevin McE (talk) 23:05, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

Doesn't Cell Dá Lua (from the "Annalistic references" section) mean "Cell/Church of Two Luas"? 37.47.231.189 (talk) 08:56, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
