Suggest remove "11th greatest guitarist of all time" and using Rolling Stone Lists as relevant sources across Wikipedia[edit]

Rolling Stone lists rankings I supposed can be put into a curiosity section, but should not be considered relevant information about a person. The lists are simply heavily partial, and commercially driven dribble. In general, I don't think the subjective lists of any magazine should be used as a relevant source.

Edit request on 2 June 2013[edit]

The genre of his and his bands music is Thrash metall, not heavy metall 2.86.64.222 (talk) 13:33, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

Not done: This comes up periodically on Metallica's talk page, most recently here. Consensus seems to be to leave the primary genre as heavy metal, as you can't say that everything that Kirk Hammett or Metallica has done in the last 30 years would be considered thrash metal. My recommendation if you would like to see it changed would be to discuss it on Talk:Metallica. If you can convince some people of your point of view and establish a consensus there, I think it would follow naturally to be changed in this article as well. --ElHef (Meep?) 21:39, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
