George W. Bush's visit[edit]

On Aug. 14, 2002, US President George W. Bush visited UW-Milwaukee and made a speech on national, homeland and economic security at Klotsche Center. ^[1] About 1,800 people attended this meeting. UWM Chancellor Nancy Zimpher and Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum welcomed the president.^[2]

Why? He's just a politician. I'd say the same if it had been Obama or Ford. Such visits are only notable if something meaningful actually happens (like the assassination attempt on Teddy Roosevelt while he was speaking in Milwaukee).
