You're the one who's unilaterally trying to impose her strange categorizations on Wikipedia, without even having the common decency to offer the remainder of us peons on Wikipedia one single shred of meaningful explanation. The fact that you've been silent on your user talk page for three days now (while very actively editing on Wikipedia all the while), indicates that you have no meaningful explanation to offer -- and that being the case, I feel no hesitancy in reverting to the categories that were there before you started unilaterally imposing your individual agenda. Golf Knickers (or Knickerbockers)

"Knickers" is also a common term (in the US at least) for old fashioned golf pants. Should this be represented on here somewhere, or have some kind of disambiguation? Or just a "see also"? Knickerbockers links here but there's no link back.

This is correct usage and the original use of the term, and is still in use in American English. However, knickers to refer to knickerbockers has fallen out of use in British English, where they are usually called plus twos or plus fours (depending on the length below the knees). They were not originally golfing gear but for general use - it was harder to clean woollen garments, so this avoided muddying the hems, whereas socks could be washed. They were worn on the golf course, for hunting, fishing, and anywhere out in the country. Eventually, men started to wear them as casual wear in town too. The term knickers was therefore originally something that came out of the masculine wardrobe. Therefore this article should NOT be merge with panties.

Commonwealth countries ?

In Malaysia and Singapore, we call women's underwear panties. Never knickers. And these are Commonwealth countries.I'm incontinent and wear Tena Slip Maxi (talk) 19:43, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It does not specifically say "Malaysia and Singapore". It says "other commonwealth countries" not "all commonwealth countries". Very important, and distinct, differences. According to this article some other commonwealth countries (not mentioned by name) also refer to underwear as "knickers". Celynn (talk) 02:08, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
