Merge with Perfluoropolyether and maybe rename[edit]

Krytox is a trademarked range of lubricants made up of perfluoropolyether (PFPE). PFPE has it's own recent and stubby page here, mostly derived from a single manufacturer page (Solvay Fomblin). I don't think the "Perfluoropolyether" page as it stands adds anything new that can't go on "Krytox".

Furthermore, PFPE is a generic substance, and there are multiple ranges of PFPE lubricants, each with many formulations with radically different purposes. I'd say it's almost worth renaming this "Krytox" page to "Perfluoropolyether" and redirecting PFPE, Krytox and maybe Fomblin and the alternative names like PFAE and PPFAE to it. This would fit with the German "Perfluorpolyether" article, which focusses on the substance in generic terms, and only mentions tradenames like Krytox and Fomblin later on. Anything formulation-specific (e.g. PTFE addition and technical specs) could be mentioned there. Inductiveload (talk) 10:39, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose, Krytox and Perfluoropolyether are not the same thing. Krytox also contains PTFE, which has its own article. Comfr (talk) 07:10, 30 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
