[Untitled][edit]

There is much content in the Clear Lake article which is more about the county than the lake, and probably needs to be moved here. I'll probably do this sometime, but if anyone wants to start on this, be my guest. See Talk: Clear Lake.

Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

LC[edit]

I lived in Lake County for 20 years, and never did I know someone to seriously refer to Lake County as "LC" or "The County". People had enough trouble understanding where Lake County was, so any colloquial saying would have only created more confusion. I would suspect anyone that would use the term "LC" was most likely in high school. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.94.34.82 (talk) 17:26, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

possible copyvio[edit]

My gut is telling me that Lake_County,_California#Demographics is a copyvio, but I can't find what site it is from.--Rockfang (talk) 05:18, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article issues[edit]

Who wrote this baloney on county history? It is slanted toward wine-making, even the picture is bad, should be in Napa County's article ;). I'd be happy to expand this history section, as I live 15 minutes from the Lake County library, and can provide photos of the lake as well. Comments? I agree that this covers only wine making -- but the history (and agriculture) is much richer than that. Pears, anybody? Alanf777 (talk) 21:17, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I added a 1911 summary of agriculture, and current crop values in a new Agriculture section. I think that the two wine-heavy sentences in History could be moved to Agriculture, and summarized in History. Alanf777 (talk) 01:08, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Wmpine : hitch and other fish are covered in the article on Clear Lake, under wildlife -- with a link to the Chi Council site. (Alan, Lucerne and KPFZ) Alanf777 (talk) 01:10, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Geography[edit]

I've added some details on rivers and lakes/dams -- but I think the should just be mentioned in the heading of geography, and details put in a new "rivers and lakes" section. Alanf777 (talk) 21:14, 21 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Berryessa Snow Mountain Nat'l Monument was just signed into law by Obama, and should be added. [1] Judithkitty (talk) 13:30, 24 August 2015 (UTC)judithkitty[reply]

Historical transport[edit]

I added some info on railways under transport -- it could go in History, of course. I'll add some other historical stuff on stage routes and shipping lines. Alanf777 (talk) 21:38, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No Bloody Island Massacre?[edit]

Shouldn't this and the slavery etc be in the hyper-whitewashed History?

The Bloody Island Massacre (also called the Clear Lake massacre) occurred on an island called in the Pomo language, Bo-no-po-ti or Badon-napo-ti (Island Village), at the north end of Clear Lake, Lake County, California, on May 15, 1850.
