Notable residents[edit]

Being born in one municipality (Town of Lamont), but being raised in another (Lamont County), does not warrant Ed Stelmach being a notable resident of the Town of Lamont. I don't believe he can be considered a notable resident of the Town of Lamont unless he actually lived there. I was born in one municipality but raised in another because the latter didn't have a hospital at that time. That didn't make me a resident of the former for the first 48 hours of my life.

Same goes for Ed Stelmach's relationship with the Village of Andrew. Did he actually live in that village, or did he simply live in Lamont County and go to secondary school in the village? Unless he actually lived in the Village of Andrew, I wouldn't consider him a notable resident of the Village of Andrew either. No question that he is a notable resident of Lamont County, the municipality in which he was actually raised.

Unless there is a solid reference that confirms Ed Stelmach actually lived in Lamont or Andrew, then he shouldn't be considered a notable resident of either in my opinion.

However, if the intent of the section is to simply present notable people born in Lamont, as the lead in the section suggests, then consideration should be made to changing the title of the section from "Notable residents" to "Notable people". Under this scenario, it may be justifiable to then include Ed Stelmach. If the section title is not changed, this then begs the question... did either Gene Achtymichuk or Brian O'Kurley actually live in Lamont, or were they simply born there like Ed Stelmach? Ed Stelmach was born in the Town of Lamont. He was raised on a Farm outside of the town of Andrew in the County of Lamont. He went to School in the Village of Andrew but didn't live right in the village. The article says 'Lamont is the birthplace of:' Maybe the wording of this should be changed. The Background section of the Ed Stelmach article states he "was born on a farm near Lamont". Although the statement is unreferenced, if the statement is true, it appears that he was born in Lamont County, not the Town of Lamont. Hwy43 (talk) 19:18, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
